Many RYA courses require you to have completed a certain number of miles prior to taking the course. You will need to have logged miles as crew and skipper during day and night hours.
You may also be looking for cabin charters/mile building passages to improve your confidence or simply to step into the world of sailing.
Through Malta Yacht Charters, we offer rewarding mile building sailing programmes, many of which are non-tidal and focus on passage planning although tidal passages may be organised on demand.
All mile building passages will be overseen by experienced qualified skippers who are there to guide you through the day to day running of the vessel, tricky maneuvers …as well as point out all the best restaurants! Most skippers are also RYA instructors which means that, while this is not an RYA course, you will be given the best information and demonstrations from trained instructors.
Don’t forget that apart from miles, you will also be gaining on board experience so all participants are expected to share cabins, be open to changes in plans where necessary and willing to lend a hand cooking, cleaning and generally ensuring the boat is in ship shape throughout the journey.
