RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore Preperation

 

This is the serious end of sail training. A course designed to prepare you for the RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate of Competence examination. The ultimate qualification for pleasure yachtsman. This award can also lead to commercial endorsements.

Duration:

This would normally be 6 days, and does not have to follow any particular pattern but does include both theory and practical training. An RYA Examiner will be arranged for the last day.

Previous Knowledge required:

You will need to have completed the Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Shorebased Theory course. There are a number of qualifying criteria which we will be happy to explain to you.

Course Overview:

As the course title says this is all about preparing you for the examination. Its a revision of everything that is included in all RYA training course syllabus subjects. You and your Instructor will identify any areas of weakness which require attention and deal with them. Taking this examination can appear to be a daunting experience, so we need to avoid any nasty surprises and give you the confidence to pass.

There are a number of prerequisites to taking this examination. RYA syllabus and logbook G15 explains them. However we are here to lead you through the process.

Certificate Awarded:

RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate of Competence.

This is the pinacle of RYA training. It is a certificate that can be converted for commercial purposes and is recognised the world over as the benchmark of sailing excellence.

Whats included:

Just about everything that you need , all instruction, shorebased training material, use of boat, and all the necessary safety equipment

Any extra familiaration on the school sailing boat would incur additional cost.

What you need to bring is included in the course joining instructions.

All practical courses have a maximum of 5 students to 1 Instructor, so there is plenty of time and opportunity for the Instructor to attend to your personal needs.
