Powerboat Level 1
This course is an introduction to boating techniques for launching and recovering a boat from a road trailer , everyday boat handling and the use of safety equipment.
It can either be taken as a stand alone course or intergrated into the two day level 2 course
Assumed Knowledge: None
Minimum Duration : 1 day
Minimum Age : 8
Course Content : launch and recovery (8-11years old observe), Preperation of boat and crew, boat handling etc
Note: Certificates issued to 8-11 year olds can only be used under the supervision of an adult on board. Certificates issued to 12-16 year olds can only be used under the supervision of a responsible adult.
Powerboat Level 2
This two day course provides the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat and is the basis of the International certificate of Competence.
It also includes close quarters handling, high speed manoeuvers, man overboard recoveryand collission regulations.The course can be taken inland or on the coast and your certificate will be endorsed accordingly.

Minimum duration : 2 days
Minimum age: 12 years Candidates under the age of 16 will be issued with an endorsed certificate.
Course content: Launch and recovery, boat-handling, securing to a buoy , anchoring leaving and coming alongside, man overboard.
Ability after course: self sufficient in the right conditions, aware of his own limitations.
